# QA Widget The _QA_ widget is used to present short answers based on the user’s query. It is the user interface for the [Question Answering](../../search/features/qa.md#search-qa) functionality. Tip: Squirro recommends using this widget on a separate dashboard layer with _Hide when widgets empty_ selected. This ensures the widget only takes up space if it has answers that can be presented to the user.
