How to Use The Other People Ask Feature#

This page describes how to configure the Other People Ask feature.

It is intended for project creators who can both configure feature settings and deploy the feature using Dashboards.

The “Other People Ask” Widget#

The “Other People Ask” Widget is the UI component that displays the suggested queries.

Cognitive Search#

When you create a new project using the Cognitive Search template, the Other People Ask feature is automatically set up. It is configured to appear in the right sidebar as soon as suggestions are found when you enter a query.

As shown in the screenshot below, you may choose the Cognitive Search template (or Cognitive Search + template with example data) to set up a new project that comes with a pre-configured Global Search featuring the “Other People Ask” Widget.

Manual Setup#

To make Other People Ask available for a project that was not automatically configured, you must enable the feature by following the steps below:

Navigate to Settings > Project Configuration.
Hover over the topic.search.document-embedder-queries-workflow-enabled option and click Edit.
Enable the checkbox.

In addition, you must add the Other People Ask widget to a project’s dashboard. This can be done with the help of the Dashboard Editor.

Using “Other People Ask” via `SquirroClient`#

The Other People Ask functionality can also be accessed programmatically via the SquirroClient (Python SDK).
